Little snippets of old art journal
I managed to pack some of my favorite perfumes I had to leave behind when I left for UK and my art materials in my suitcase. Some classic wooden stamp set, my Venetian style glass ink pen, and me and my friend's old art journal call "A" book. Since it's so old and somewhat falling apart, I was little afraid of moving it around. Although the journal ( with all the delicate papers glued on plus paint) was suffering from the poor storage condition and humidity of Japanese weather, I decided to bring it back to UK with me.
As some of you might noticed, this is the journal where half of my arts on Deviant Art Gallery comes from LOL My friend has twin journal call “P” book. Back when we were in high school, we used to swap these two journals every month or so to do few pages of art or story or anything we fancied related to Anne Rice novels and her characters, sometimes we worked on same pages. We eventually fall out of the A.R fandom and when we decided to move on, we both kept one journal each, the one with most art work of our own.
Anyway, so these two journals haven’t been side by side for many years. We lived in different countries for few years after we graduated University but now we both live and work in UK. Apparently she also packed her journal to be shipped to UK the last time she was back in New Zealand. So I’m looking forward to seeing the long lost "other half" of journal again and going through both scrap books together with my friend! Nostalsia of old days...

Purple Heaven
So I've been searching/collecting for hair accessories in purple shade for the big day... since my sister chose a bridesmaid dress in purple so is my colour scheme for wedding. lol Apparently purple shade is the IN colour for wedding this year and next year according to bridal magazine. Well, that's good news I guess. I always liked purple...though my favourite is darker shades either blue tinted midnight purple or grape/mauve shade, never really pastel lilac. Although I need to be careful what shade I choose, as my dress is ivory I can't have a accessories that's too dark, need to stay away from any purple with too much black I guess (though I do love black and purple combinations!)
These will definitely look nice with bridesmaid dress! Under fiver from Primark.
Little bundle of lavender/lilac colour roses for my hair, from Antique shop in Angel's market for under fiver. I love the bottle design of this Anna Sui and Lanvin perfume...lavender colour liquid, both smell gorgeous.
Choosing a necklace is a headache as well. I want to stay away from conventional looking white/ivory colour jewellery. Since I'm wearing ivory dress I decided to go with little purple in my accessories for accent. Although anything with purple, either lavender colour freshwater pearl or violet colour gems they can look too pink or too Gothic! After looking around online, local markets, high street shops, nothing really tickled my fancy that within my budget!... for now I'll stick with this modest antique amethyst necklace my mum gave me while ago. It's simple and the colour is not overpowering yet can't be mistaken as pink...

Wedding Venue - Leeds Castle
Dresses and Shoes!
Anyhow...long rambling aside.. I've been little obsessed looking around online for things for my wedding next year. It's on end of April so I still have ages. (well maybe not that long if you ask others...) I finally chose my dress and ordered them other day.
After seeing sooo many pictures of dresses online, I just got wedding gown overdose and started to feel bit nauseous looking at it (all those white colour!!)...so I went for the first one I really liked and pressed the button for order. Now at least I don't have to look at anymore dresses! It's done.
I had lot of trouble looking for a perfect shoes to go with it as well. I initially was thinking of getting violet/lavender colour satin shoes since my colour scheme was lavender/gold/olive-green. I figured it could work as accent. Although I soon find out there are so many different shades of purple out there and most of them looked quite cheap...something about the combination of shiny satin material and purple shade...does not complement each other.
In the end I ordered lovely ivory heels with corsage on the side, but had it delivered to a store so I can try it on before I purchase it.
Well as I suspected, the online pic was rather deceiving....they look quite nice from the side but from front, the corsage looks too big and sticks out too much...and white lace was bit old lady-ish. I picked up jewelled ankle cuff heels instead, which I initially thought bit plain compare to the other one...but they were different from the standard wedding shoes, gorgeous when you actually wear them, really accentuates your ankle. I know you can't see the shoes under the dress, but I'll definitely take a shot of heels as part of my wedding photo!
